We don't pray to change God; we pray to transform ourselves. You can't change God. God is always God and our prayers do not force God or bribe God into being what God already is. Instead prayer opens the eyes of our heart to the loving presence of Spirit that always has our highest and greatest good in mind even during seasons of pain and loss.
